What a Friday
It all started with me returning a questionnaire from the local MP, Helen Grant.
This questionnaire ended with “What Can We Do For You?”
So, I put “How about a visit!!”
Well, this resulted, as you know, as you were all invited!!
The Visit
This was an opportunity to voice our concerns, we had a voice, and what was amazing our MP listened, meeting service users, staff, and parents.
It was a relaxed, informative meeting, where in particular, your managers voiced their concerns refer the mental health support for our service users, to how we can encourage the younger generation to join a career in care.
Obviously, we cannot change everything immediately, but throughout the visit, I hope I can say that from all who were present, we felt listened to, we had a voice.
We were all thanked and told to share the gratitude and thanks for all you do as a team for the work you do.
It felt good to be recognised, and we now have a hotline to Helen if needed.
Helen realised the commitment, work, and dedication that it takes to be a carer and was humbled by you all and wished you well.
‘You were missed, maybe next time !! You will come and share your voice.’
