Will I need to pay for my support?
FUNDING OPTIONS
Navigating the complexities of funding care and support can indeed feel overwhelming. At Phoenix Support, we are committed to guiding you through this process, ensuring clarity and confidence in your choices. Here's a breakdown of the funding options available:
A) Private Funding (Self-Funding)
If you choose to self-fund, you will be responsible for the full cost of your care following a needs assessment. This assessment, which we can conduct upon your request, helps determine the level of support you require. The evaluation is typically reassessed every six months or as agreed upon, ensuring your care plan remains aligned with your needs. Invoices are generated monthly, and we work with you to establish a payment method that suits your circumstances, aiming to alleviate any concerns.
B) Free of Charge (Local Authority Funded)
This option involves your local council, Kent County Council (KCC), funding your care through their social services department. To access this, you would need to contact KCC to initiate a referral to their social services team. Eligibility is determined through a needs assessment and a financial assessment conducted by KCC. If eligible, KCC will directly contract with us to provide your care at no cost to you.
C) Dual Funding
In some cases, a combination of private funding and local authority support is possible. This arrangement, known as dual funding, means both you and KCC contribute to the cost of your care. Eligibility is assessed by KCC through both a needs and financial assessment. Under this model, we coordinate with you and KCC to manage the funding and service delivery, ensuring a seamless care experience.

What's the difference between care & support?
We believe the difference is that care is done TO someone and support is done WITH someone, support enables and not disables.
Our Service Users came up with a great summary "No decison about me, without me" and we stand by that, we will always involve you in your support, and will change it to meet your needs.
What does support do, and how can I use it?
Support is said to achieve whatever you want it to achieve, we offer a completely individual and unique service that is never the same.
Some people need support for everyday things, shopping, ironing, cooking personal care etc. others need support for more individual things, holidays, activities, family occasions etc.
In fact we challenge you to find something that we cannot support you with ?? Go on ask us !!
What age can I get support?
Support is for anyone of any age that needs it for whatever reason they require it. Many people now receive Personal Payments for support and can select the most appropriate provider for their needs.
We believe that is us, we can offer a fully person centred individual support package for most age groups, this can include weekend breaks and activities.
School holiday breaks, overnight or selected daytime hours.
Foreign supported holidays, or event support to concerts, games, or activities.
Are support workers trained, qualified and able ?
All our support workers are dedicated and trained to above the national minimum standards. we oversee all our training and ensure it is of the highest standard. All our staff have an enhanced DBS police check and are interviewed by a panel of professionally experienced staff and also, sometimes our Service Users.
All staff have achieved the new Care Certificate and have a Continued Professional Development pathway of training, we are committed to quality and driving up quality, we have acheived and are proud of our ISO9001:2018 Internationally recognised Quality standard.
What happens if I don’t like my support worker?
We recognise that every person and personality is different, whilst every care is taken to match the right person with the right support worker we understand that sometimes people just don’t take to each other.
We are happy to act on everything we are told, and always try to offer the most suitable person to support you, we will carry on trying to match the right person for the right support.
We will gain as much information about you during your free assessment and will use this to match you with the most appropriate person, we know all our staff very well and their interests will be as close as they can be at any time during your support if you inform us you would like to change, then we will do so at the next available opportunity.
